I commend you for finding your happy balance. Deep Work was one of the most life-changing books I've read in the last few years because it allowed me to consider building up the ability to focus.
But in the same way, it made acknowledging my resurgence of depression much more difficult, and once acknowledged, harder to deal with. When you purposely shut yourself off from people until you are ready for them, you find that they don't really have the time for you then either.
I like the flexible approach you've described and think it's probably the closest to my own.
