I think this is a great intro to finding your calling. I use several of the things you mention as part of my own morning routine and definitely believe they have helped me.

I don't think it's as easy as finding and following your passions though. If it were, it would be something any person could do. I think it's a juxtaposition of listening to the Lord's calling in your life and looking for opportunities.

We can't always do exactly what we think God wants us to do, sometimes we have to do other things first, or sometimes we're going about it i n the wrong way and God needs to take us in hand.

The verse that guides me these days is:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

- 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

There are many others - I spend time each morning writing a couple verses over and over in a notebook to help memorize the ones I can (memorization is very hard for me because of other issues, so I use multiple avenues to remind myself of verses that are important to me).

God will work with us where we are, and He will make our path work for His good.

Great post! Look forward to reading more of your posts!
